Ari's casts are off both arms, and she is doing well so far. They may have to re-cast her right arm, or at least her hand. She is also holding her head up a bit more and I believe that by the end of the week she will be holding it up quite a bit more. We had a lot of progress in the way of meds today. After some fussing by Ari's parents this morning after she vomited again, the doctors agreed to wean her off the valium to see if it helps with the stomach pain she is having and the vomiting itself. If her muscle tone gets too bad, they may have to put her back on something, but will try a new med. She has also had a lot of gas problems that seemed to have started when they put her on the antibiotics for the UTI. The nutritionist would like to try giving her something that would put some of the bacteria back in her intestines and help with digestion, much like yogurt does with us. Days like today can wear on your emotions, and this was a bad day, especially for Sarah. It's hard to watch your daughter in so much pain and discomfort, especially now that she wears that pained look on her face and vocalizes it so well. But I was able to get Sarah to leave the hospital for a bit, and we went to dinner. Maybe it helped a little. If this seems like a shorter update than I promised, I apologize. I just spent 45 minutes typing a long update only to have my computer crash, so unfortunately my patience for computers tonight requires me to condense my update. Love to all until tomorrow Love to all.
