Hello all, I hope everyone is doing well. This past week started out the same Ari being grumpy and not wanting to participate in therapy, but by Wednesday her mood changed. In PT with she was paying attention to Mrs. Lana and following simple commands. She had Ari on the platform swing on her belly and told her to hold her head up and Ari did it almost every time. In PT with Aries she still did not want to work with him, but she did kicked her right leg a few times when he asked her to, which is a big improvement since he is the one she gives to hardest time. In OT on Friday they did some more swinging, her OT worked on stretching her while they swung. Arianna was enjoying the swing so much that her ST decided to keep her on the swing for her ST session. Ari did awesome. They played with toys and every time she asked Ari to push the button on the toy she did. She even had Ari picking which toy she wanted to play with by looking at the one she wanted. They also started working with a communication button, it’s a button that they recorded more swing on it and had Ari press the button to indicate that she wanted to swing some more. Ari seemed to actually have fun yesterday she even smiled at her ST for the first time. I wish I would have remembered my camera. I pray that next week goes the same this week ended.

I also talked to the someone about getting Arianna vision therapy. They are going to try and get an evaluation in the coming weeks. For some reason they said she has to have her evaluation done before her 3rd birthday which is the 25th of this month, I hope they can fit her in. I didn’t find out that they had vision therapy in our county until a few months ago when they were trying to convince us to enroll Ari into school this coming school year, which we of course turned down. I have decided that the school board must get paid very well for every disabled child they have in their schools because they have been very determined to get us to enroll her and when we continued to say no they started calling to try and get us to just let the school therapist take over her current therapists which we also declined except for the vision services.

I have had a few people ask about the cookbook, I am still working on getting it all put together as soon as we have it finished we will let everyone know I am sorry it is taking so long it is just so hard to find extra time these days. We want to thank everyone for continuing to check up on our princess and all your continued prayers.

Optometric vision therapy may indeed be helpful. For more information go to http://www.covd.org (you may be able to find a doc in your area as well by going to this site). Good luck!
