This morning started about the same. I walked in and started helping get Arianna dressed and she vomited again. But she didn't have any problems with that for the rest of the day. It seems to be once a day and mainly when she is first moved in the morning or first moved later on. They did start her on the stuff to help the bacteria in her stomach, so we will see if that helps. They started to wean her off the valium. She is down from 4 doses a day to 3, and by this weekend she will be down to 2, then one. So we will see if that is what is causing these other side effects. The only difficulty we may have is her response to her valium being taken away. But we are trying it. Her arms are doing well, and her legs and feet for that matter. They did not put a cast back on her right arm, but made a splint for it that will be interchanged with her cast splint. As long as we can maintain here fairly loose muscle tone she should be ok. All her therapies went well, and she continues to try and hold her head up more. She got a temporary tumble form chair on wheels today which will allow her to sit up a little more proper than her wagon does. We figure this will encourage her to lift her head more, or irritate her enough to lift her head more. She has been doing well at holding her head up for a short time, and this is encouraging even to the therapists. Tonight, just before I came back here, I helped Sarah give Ari a bath. During Ari's profound irritation at being so rudely treated as to be bathed and washed clean, she threw a fit and opened her mouth to utter her displeasure. There was no understanding what she said to her mother, but they were obviously jumbled syllables in her own voice, and they were not happy. Of course, being the stunned parents that we were, we told her how happy we were that she was unhappy with us, and she could cuss at us if she wanted if it meant she was trying to speak to us. So, today was not too bad, and we pray that tomorrow will be better.
