Sarah and Arianna checked in to Shriners this morning. They will be doing pt, ot, and speech each morning and again in the afternoon, much like we did at Brooks. They evaluated her a little today and will do so again tomorrow. Sarah said they mentioned trying to calculate some recipe that might allow Arianna to get all her calories by mouth. That should be fun. Still not sure how long Ari will be there. But Sarah took the camera and laptop, so I'm hoping she has wi-fi there to do some updates and pics. Rather ironically concerning treatment and diet for Ari and other patients, we noticed that the news has had some stories lately about gluten allergies, dairy allergies, warnings against botox in children, and even this morning about the use and relevance of muscle testing. We find it funny that a lot of the "alternative" stuff we and others have tried is becoming more and more main-stream, although it still has a long way to go. Just since spring of last year this little town of Sebring has gotten 2 separate hbot centers. We talked to the first one to open here last year, and the people there were very weary of the fact that hbot helped severe conditions like tbi, autism, and many more. They also expressed their doubts that it would do anything for Ari since she didn't get it on day 1. So we crossed that "healing center" off the list. That said, Sarah stopped at the second one the other day, which is run by the very hospital whose ER would not give up on Ari and finally brought her back to us. The doctor in charge said Ari needs to get back into the chamber, and is going to try to convince the hospital or whomever that she can be helped. That is exciting because if he can push it through, they are only 5 mins from the house. We love Dr Murray, but really the chance of her getting a bunch more chambers 300 plus miles away is not good considering all that it involves with the other kids and school and work, let alone just the cost of the trip and separation. So we are praying for that. Still working on the cookbook. Sarah has lots of recipes now, and possibly more coming. If Sarah can't get internet at Shriners, I'll try to keep you updated on anything significant. Pray that they are able to bring Ari out of this plateau she has been on, as we pray as well. Love to all.....
