Arianna had a fairly good week this past week. Her startle has been really strong this week and she has also been doing the strider breathing a lot. Her PT has been doing a little cranial sacral therapy on her,I am starting to wonder if that has something to do with how Ari has been acting. She stops the strider when ever I pick her up and hold her, so maybe she is just using that to let us know she wants held. She is continuing to hold herself up on her arm when we put her in that position on her stomach and looks around. Her PT did the re-evaluation this week and had Ari sit with her arms on the floor to see how long she could hold herself up, she made it about 10-15 sec ( YEAH Ari) before she started falling forward and Ari even tried to push herself back up.
In ST they did crafts, Ari and chance got to decorate pirate hats. They put a few things on the hat and then got out the all done and more buttons. This time they didn’t help her push the buttons first to show her which button was on which side, they just touched one hand at a time and told her which one said what and Ari pushed the more button when they asked her if she wanted to keep decorating the hat. I am looking around on the internet to try and find a button to buy so we can use them at home with her.
In OT they did therapeutic listening. They use music that has been modulated and filtered; it helps with her startle, tone, concentration etc. Her OT wants to try it during her OT sessions a few more times and then it will be something we do at home a few times a day if Ari continues to react good to it. She put headphones on Ari and it was so cute, Ari kept trying to look at her ears to see what was on them. I hope she does react good with this program it is the only reason I chose to take her to Lakeland for OT. I think she will she seemed to be listening to the music.
